Rugby autumn internationals
No thread on these yet......well I guess they don't start properly till England play next week.

But I'm looking forward to these.....not least because I'm taking my youngest to Twickenham for his ( and my) first international.

Wales got an Aussie walloping today...
But the result of the day......maybe the year.....is the Oirish beating the Kiwis at home in......er.... Chicago.

Spectacular result for Ireland and one of the best games of rugby I have ever seen.

Congratulations Ireland - Enjoy it, you deserve it.

Epic.

Well done the Irish, unfortunately the ab's don't often lose but I love it when they do, the kiwis down here will moan their fucking arses off for at least a week.

They surely will. Terrible losers; the world's most graceless people.

Steady on Mart O you fucking paddy cunt.

No offense.

;-)

Only watched a little of it as I'm trying to pack the house up to move next week, but Ireland deserved that win. Of all (very few) the losses we've suffered in recent memory, that's just about the only one where there just isn't any argument.

We were ripe for the picking, but the Irish really did stick to their game plan and tackled like demons.

So many injuries now too, and pretty serious too. I'm trying to find my boots just in case I get called up.

No worries Jonah; thought that might bring you out.

I'm not Irish, but I would like to thank you for proving my point:

'So many injuries now too, and pretty serious too. I'm trying to find my boots just in case I get called up.'

I mean, really.

Great win by the Irish. They could easily have fallen apart in the midst of the second half onslaught, when the ABs upped the pace of the game.

Anyone listen to the American commentary team? Fuck me, they were shit. How many times did they mention "Ireland Rugby Football Union haven't beaten the ABs in 100 odd years".

Thick cunts.

Re: Rugby autumn internationals
You've misunderstood me Mart, deliberately too I imagine.

I meant injuries for both sides, and didn't mean that they affected the outcome of the game, just that there were a lot of serious injuries.

Going to be quite a few callups for the rest of the tour. Luckily we've got the Maori side over there right now.

Re: Rugby autumn internationals
Well, looks like I picked the right game to watch.

Good, tough game vs the Irish this morning, and Ireland probably deserved more, but as usual the ABs take advantage when they get the opportunity more often than not. Butchered a couple of good opportunities too, alongside some staunch Irish defence. Some pretty cynical play, but thought Peyper had a terrible game.

SA getting tipped up by Italy puts last week's result in perspective - they're absolutely shithouse at the moment.

Wales vs Japan looks like it would have been a good watch, and pleased to see Scotland get up over Argentina.

Oh, and the Black Ferns besting the world champion English ladies.

Now, if France can just knock over Australia, and we can finish off the Pakistanis in the cricket, it will have been an alright weekend.....apart from bloody West Ham.

Again.

At least one country isn't losing to the Europeans

True Sven.

You're just always losing to the one country you REALLY want to beat.

Re: Rugby autumn internationals
Don't really follow rugby but I'd always say England are the country Australia want to beat in any sport.

I notice England played Fiji using Fijian players. What is the point of that?

That said the NZ cricket team now includes Nathan Astles husband, an Indian opening batsman and a Zimbabwean called Colin de Grandmother
